'Bertie Strong' Showcases Student
Achievements
February 9th--Bertie
County schools showcased student achievement
from across the school district with each campus
displaying learning centers, student success
with robotics and many demonstrations of
exciting educational experiences under the
mantra "Bertie Strong" a theme introduced by
Superintendent Dr. Steven Hill at the high
school gymnasium.
In attendance were parents, students and
family members who were able to meet with
teachers and administrators in a festive setting
of music, refreshments and presentations of
school achievement.
Commissioner Tammy Lee commented "the
students are doing wonderful things in our
school system and we are very proud of our
teachers," as she pointed to the display from
Windsor Elementary School.
Commissioner Stewart White noted that
"the improved school results are very exciting
and something we should celebrate on a regular
basis."
"These photos really show what learning
is all about for our students" commented Vice
Chairman Ernestine Bazemore who noted that
several of the Commissioners had out of town
meetings, and other commitments on Thursday
representing the Board, and were unable to
attend.
